Leonardo da Vinci in Pavia

In 1490 Leonardo was invited to Pavia by Ludovico Maria Sforza, known as il Moro, to visit the cathedral construction site. In Pavia, Leonardo studied the bronze equestrian statue of Regisole. From 1510 Leonardo collaborated with the anatomist and friend Marco Antonio della Torre at the University of Pavia. Leonardo da Vinci ebbe contatti frequenti con la città di Pavia a partire dal 1490. A Pavia Leonardo studia e ritrae la statua bronzea del Regisole nello stesso periodo in cui a Milano attende alla statua equestre per Francesco Sforza. Nel 1490 Leonardo è invitato a pavia da Ludovico Maria Sforza come consulente ai lavori della cattedrale. Dal 1510 Leonardo collabora con l’anatomista e amico Marco Antonio della Torre all’Università di Pavia.
