“This is an era of specialists, each of whom sees his own problem and is unaware of or intolerant of the larger frame into which it fits.”
– Rachel Carson, Silent Spring (1962)

My statement for sustainability
To limit the environmental impact of my professional work as a freelance technical consultant, I intend to take the following steps:
- I will encourage my customers to make use of online collaboration platforms and digital sharing tools to reduce travel emissions. My first preference when traveling is to use public transport: train, tram, or bus.
- I will always think before printing, and for printing, I’ll use recycled paper. I will encourage clients to do the same with a reminder only to print relevant pages where they are necessary, adding this reminder to my email signature
- I will reduce my digital impact in terms of cloud storage and artificial intelligence, limiting these to strictly necessary, and in terms of website, emails, and posting on social media
- I will endeavor to shop for consumables locally and to support businesses (e.g., ethical banks) that state their ethical and environmental intentions publicly
- I will act through reduced consumption of energy, adoption of plastic-free habits (more attention on stuff packaging), and a better use of water (reuse, water reducers, etc.).
As a member of the Order of Engineers and IAPTI (INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL TRANSLATORS AND INTERPRETERS), and ISO 14001 (Environmental management systems) certified auditor, I apply these Codes of Ethics.

I’m keen to develop more sustainable practice, so I will actively look for more ways to improve what I do.
